Dreary, dark, dank castles. Kung Fu Fusiliers. Biting bushes of bumbleberries. Welcome to Thatchwych! Seth is no ordinary kid; he is SIR Seth Thistlethwaite and, along with his best buddy, Sir Ollie Everghettz, he leads The Mighty Knights of Right and Honor. Together, they embark on adventures high and low, to and fro, or at least as long as holidays, weekends, curfews, and supper time will allow. In their self-created world of Thatchwych they are gallant adventurers up to any task. But can these errant young knights contend with the scheming Prince Quincy Poxley of High Dudgeon and collar his latest theft, the Soothsayer's Shoes? It seems the prince has nabbed the footwear in an effort to spread his own version of the sooth (that's "truth" to you laypeople) all across his kingdom. Will Seth, Ollie, their horse (who's really a dog named Shasta), and the saber-toothed sloth Edith-Anne be able to avoid the dangers of dog-eating bog frogs, fire-breathing bats, elephant ants, and invisible voices to save the day? This series debut is a dizzy, delightful drama that thrives on witty wordplay, animated alliteration, and tricky tongue twisters. Highly humorous and vivid, it welcomes young readers to a place where anything is possible, everything is silly, and good triumphs over all.

After beginning his writing career at Maclean-Hunter Publishing Company in 1958, RICHARD THAKE has finally found the time to write the Sir Seth series, a thinly disguised glimpse into his own childhood adventures with his friends in the Don River Valley and The Beach areas of Toronto. VINCE CHUI has spent the last six years creating illustrations and concept artwork for various entertainment properties.
