CONTEST RULES
J.K. Rowling Comes to the Winter Garden Theatre
No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited. This “JK Rowling Comes to the Winter Garden Theatre” (the “Contest”) is sponsored
by Raincoast Books (the “Sponsor”). The Sponsor is the exclusive sponsor and administrator of the Contest. By submitting an entry for the Contest,
each entrant unconditionally agrees to be bound by the Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which shall be final and binding in all respects.
Failure to comply with the Rules will result in an automatic disqualification of the entrant from the Contest.
WHO CAN WIN:
This Contest is open to all residents of Canada (the “Eligibility Area”) who are aged 7 and above. If the entrant is under age 18, the entrant
will need to obtain the consent of his or her parent/legal guardian in order to enter the Contest. Employees and agents of the Sponsor, their respective parent
companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotional agencies, assignees, licensees and members of their immediate families (spouse and children,
siblings and parents and their spouses) and individuals residing in the domiciles of each of the above are ineligible. All entries must be received by the Contest
Closing Date (as defined below).
HOW TO ENTER:
Internet access is required to enter. The Contest begins on Monday September 17 at 9:00 a.m. (Pacific) (the “Contest Start Date”) and ends on
Friday September 28 at 5:00 p.m. (Pacific) (the “Contest Closing Date”) (the “Promotion Period”). Ten pairs of tickets will be drawn
per day Monday through Friday excluding weekends. Winners names will posted daily at: www.raincoast.com/harrypotter/
Entries for the Contest will only be accepted via an online sweepstakes entry form at http://www.raincoast.com/harrypotter/.
To enter, eligible entrants must fill out all required fields denoted on the entry form, read and if under age 18, agree to the statement: “I have obtained
the consent of my parent or legal guardian”, and click on “submit”, at any time during the Promotion.
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY:
The entrant, or his or her parent/legal guardian, must be the Registered and Authorized Holder of the E-mail Account through which the entry is made.
For purposes of the Contest, a “Registered and Authorized Holder of the E-mail Account” is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an
e-mail address by an internet service provider, online service provider or other entity (e.g. business, educational institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning
e-mail addresses for the secondary level domain name associated with the submitted e-mail address. All entries must be made by an individual from a single
computer and may not be made by proxy, or electronic means such as script, bot, macro or any other similar software or program. All entries are subject to
verification and will be declared invalid if they are illegible, mechanically reproduced, mutilated, forged, falsified, altered or tampered with in any way.
SELECTION PROCESS:
The potential winners will be selected by 10 random draws from among all eligible entries received each day (12:00 am to 11:59 pm PST) via the internet during the Contest Period.
Ten daily draws of ten pairs of ticket per day will take place; beginning on Monday September 17, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. (Pacific) in Vancouver, British Columbia and
ending Friday September 28. Daily draws will not take place on weekends. Eligible entries received on the weekend (September 22 and 23) will be entered in the draw on Monday, September 24, 2007.
Odds of winning will depend on the total number of eligible entries received during the Promotion Period.
Winners will be contacted by telephone and or email on day of draw. In the event that the Sponsor is unable to notify the selected entrant or parent/legal guardian of the
selected entrant within five (5) days of selection, the selected entrant will be disqualified and an alternate potential winner will be selected from all remaining
eligible entries. Prior to being declared a winner, the selected entrant or the parent/legal guardian of the selected entrant (on his or her behalf and on behalf of the selected entrant)
must first: (a) correctly answer, unaided, a time-limited, mathematical, skill-testing question posed by telephone or email; (b) complete a written declaration
confirming compliance with the Rules and acceptance of the grand prize as awarded; (c) sign and return within five (5) days of receipt, any and all waivers or
releases and any other documentation that may be required by the Sponsor, including a publicity release confirming and acknowledging that the selected
entrant shall speak to the media (whether radio, print or television) and consenting to the use by the Sponsor of all publicity materials, including names,
photographs, visual representations, video tapes and other media which have been taken of the selected entrant and/or his or her parent/legal guardian
or their respective likenesses, without further compensation to the selected entrant and/or his or her parent/legal guardian. The selected entrant must also
execute the documents referred to in (b) and (c) above.
PRIZE:
One hundred pairs of tickets to the J.K. Rowling Comes To the Winter Theatre to be awarded and a complimentary copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
The approximate retail value of the prize is $200.00 (Cdn). If entrant is under age 18, the prize will be awarded to the parent/legal guardian of the selected
entrant to be used by the selected entrant and a parent/legal guardian, who must be over the age of eighteen (18). Unaccompanied minors are not permitted
without a parent or legal guardian accompanying the minor. The prize must be accepted as awarded, is non-transferable or convertible into cash and may not
be sold, traded or transferred, except that the Sponsor reserves the right in its absolute discretion to substitute a prize of equivalent kind and value without
prior notification in the event of the unavailability of any element of the grand prize for any reason whatsoever.
If for any reason the winner and his or her parent/legal guardian are unable to attend the JK Rowling Comes to the Winter Garden Event
on October 23, 2007 or should the potential winner refuse the prize, the prize will be forfeited and an alternate potential winner will be selected.
No compensation or alternative will be provided and the Sponsor and its respective advertising and promotional agencies are released from any obligations
whatsoever related to the grand prize.
PRIVACY:
By entering the Contest and voluntarily providing personal information, including, but not limited to the entrant’s and/or parent/legal guardian’s
name, address, age, e-mail address (collectively, the “Entrant Information”), the entrant and his or her parent/legal guardian consent and
agree to the Sponsor’s collection and use of the Entrant Information to administer the Contest. The consent of the entrant and his or her parent/legal
guardian to the Sponsor’s use of Entrant Information may be revoked at any time (which will also revoke the entrant’s participation in the
Contest or impair the chances of winning) by writing to: Raincoast Books, 9050 Shaughnessy Street, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, V6P 6E5.
All entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned. No correspondence will be entered into except with the selected
entrant and individuals requesting a copy of the Rules. A copy of the Rules may be received by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to Raincoast Books,
9050 Shaughnessy Street, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, V6P 6E5, before September 28, 2007.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY:
The Sponsor and its affiliates, its advertising and promotional agencies, retailers, distributors and suppliers, and each of their respective directors,
officers, employees, agents, representatives and shareholders and all others associated with the development and execution of the Contest (collectively,
the “Released Parties”) shall have no liability and shall be held harmless in respect of any and all manner of action, causes of action, suits,
debts, covenants, contracts, claims and demands, including legal fees and expenses, whatsoever, including, but not limited to, claims based on negligence,
breach of contract and liability for any physical injury, death or property damage which the entrant or his or her parent/legal guardian and their respect
administrators, heirs, successors or assigns may have by reason or arising out of the entrant’s and/or his or her parent’s/legal guardian’s
participation in the Contest and/or in connection with the acceptance and/or use or misuse of the grand prize or any element thereof. The Released Parties
accept no responsibility for lost, stolen, delayed, damaged or misdirected entries or for any failure of the websites during the Promotional Period, for any
problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software,
failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by the Sponsor on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the internet or at any website, or any
combination thereof including any injury or damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from accessing,
playing or downloading any material in connection with the Contest. The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion to cancel or suspend this Contest
should a virus, bug or other cause beyond the reasonable control of the Sponsor corrupt the security or proper administration of the Contest.
LEGAL:
This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws. Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or to undermine the
legitimate operation of this promotion is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek
remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution.
The Sponsor retains the right, in its sole discretion, to terminate, amend or alter the rules of the Contest at any time without notice
for any reason whatsoever.
