Plants of the Gulf and San Juan Islands and Southern Vancouver Island is part of the series of handy, beautifully illustrated pocket-sized plant guides from Raincoast Books. The book includes one to four photographs of species found in this particular region, plus black and white illustrations of leaf shapes and tree silhouettes. Each plant also has a fact sheet, with a short description and information on habitat, native use and the best places in the region to find the species. A fold-out map presents the region and shows the major hikes where the plants can be found.
