Sarah Edmondson

with Kristine Gasbarre

Scarred is Sarah Edmondson's compelling memoir of her recruitment into the NXIVM cult, the twelve years she spent within the organization (during which she enrolled over 2,000 members), her breaking point, and her harrowing fight to get out, to help others and to heal. This is also a story about abuses of power, the role female friendships play in cults, and how sometimes the search to be "better" can override everything else.

Sarah Edmondson is a Canadian actress and playwright who has starred in series such as Psych and Salvation and more than twelve films for the Hallmark Channel and Lifetime. She is also a well-established voiceover artist for popular series such as Transformers: Cybertron (Lori) and My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic (Windy Whistles). She lives in Vancouver with her husband and two children.

Kristine Gasbarre is the author of the memoir How to Love an American Man, as well as the co-writer of the #1 New York Times bestselling Etched in Sand by Regina Calcaterra, as well as Safari by Geoffrey Kent, Raising Ryland by Hillary Whittington, and A Little Piece of Light by Donna Hylton.
